Sylvia Galaty is a Research Administrator in the Department of Robotics where she leverages her unique background to support and enhance the research endeavors of the following faculty: Kira Barton, Dmitry Berenson, Bernadette Bucher, Mark Draelos, Yanran Ding, Anouck Girard, Chris Mavrogiannis, and Talia Moore.

With a scholarly past steeped in Anthropology, Sylvia has transitioned from full-time fieldwork among ancient civilizations to navigating the modern-day labyrinth of grant management with the same analytical eye and cultural acumen. Her educational background has equipped her with a deep appreciation for the nuances of research and human interaction, both of which have proven indispensable as a Research Administrator.

Sylvia received her BA in Anthropology from Northeastern Illinois University and an MA in Anthropology from Michigan State University. Her personal journey as a first-generation college student and proud daughter of immigrants has imbued Sylvia with a tenacious spirit and a profound empathy for the challenges faced by scholars navigating uncharted intellectual territory.
