Automation and robotics, particularly as it applies to building sciences and construction engineering. My group has deployed autonomous robots for environmental data collection in buildings to facilitate automated control of building HVAC systems. We also co-developed fundamental methods for automated construction of built infrastructure in unstructured conditions with large tolerances and weak metrology, and more recently have been working on advanced methods of enabling human-robot collaboration in the context of complex collaborative tasks.
